Digital painting from photo. It was at sunset at Silverwood County Park in WI, where I have an art illustration. Rain had just passed through, and there was a rainbow in the eastern sky, as well clouds turning pink in the fading light. I captured the moment where a field of red poppies was in bloom.

As I occasionally do, when I capture a photo this memorable, I work with the image on iPad to make a painting. This is one of my favorite examples of this workflow. It is also typical of the loosely abstract painting style I like to use for these moments.
