A group of paintings inspired by petroglyph art from the Southwest. I lived in New Mexico and California for awhile, and spent a lot of time looking at the ancient desert rock art sites in the National Parks and elsewhere. I occasionally respond to this work, with its shamanic and animistic worldview, by making art, hopefully not in imitation, but in homage. This is an ongoing series.
