A great deal of my illustration and design work has been connected to the music industry. I am myself a musician, who has often been commissioned to do posters and marketing pieces for music groups I have been involved with, as well as for my own releases. This gallery is a sampling of my design and illustration work for CD and album releases, concert promotion, and other music-related materials.

Pianist and composer Matt Long asked me to create the art and design for his second CD release, "Love's the Greatest Beauty." The artist portrait on the cover was made by a friend of Matt's; otherwise, all album photos and design were made by myself.
It was Matt's choice to have the album headline written by hand, he also chose which photographs of mine to use. The photographs were made in a region of northern Minnesota where we both have gone camping, near the Boundary Waters.
(Barbara Wojirsch's designs for ECM record covers were an overt influence here, which the artist and the designer discussed openly.)
