In February 2020 I made a Green Man linocut print, which became the cover art for a chapbook of Green Man poems, and additional artwork. Over the next two years, this became a trilogy of linocut-illustrated poetry chapbooks.

This image shows page from my art journal, where I often make notes on projects (so I cont' forget), as well write poems, do drawings, past in prints I have made, and write out my thinking.
First I had the idea to set my first Green Man poem, a haibun, as a poetry broadsheet, which is laid out here in my journal. Then, the idea to make a chapbook of my Green Man poems, since I had made the linocut print, came quickly, and I wrote it out and did the basic design in my journal in a single evening. After the basic design inspiration was written down, I began work on the chapbook the following day. The idea I had for the Green Man haibun broadsheet became the first page spread in the chapbook.
