Commissioned in 2013 by a Dane County Arts grant, in Wisconsin, I designed, constructed, and installed an multimedia installation in a corn crib at newly-established Silverwood County Park. The installation includes materials gathered from the former farm, plus a solar-powered music and laser light show, initiated by pressing a button. The installation is still in place.

Spiral Dance
Photo of my corn crib installation at Silverwood County Park, The Temple of Deep Time. Winter 2014.
My installation also includes several wood placards with laser-engraved statements and drawings on them, wooden elements recycled from the farm including felled oak tree slices, and antique metal farm implements. I made a wind chime out of old tutor parts. I mounted spiral cross sections of lightning=-struck oak trees throughout the installation. I made arrangements inside the corn crib at the four compass points. I used recycled barn and fence wood to line the circumference to create a semi-private interior space designed to invite the visitor to sit and meditate on time, change, and eternity. Three wood placards on the outside of the installation give a narrative of the installation as an Artist's Statement.
