This shows a sample of the Japanese brush pens of various types that I use for much of my calligraphy and drawing. Their chief advantage is they don't require a lot of preparation to use, and many have refillable cartridges for ink. I have a small two-drawer box that I carry the kit in when traveling or camping. This became my art and journaling routine for two years of living semi-nomadically in the Western states.
