This is the bowl of five small rounded stones taken from the shoreline of Lake Superior at the mouth of the Temperance River. Using these stones, letting them drop onto the blank paper, then transcribing where they fell into an artwork, is the origin and method of the Five Stone Garden series of drawings, paintings, multimedia pieces, and art journal work.
