Selected Employment

This selected employment history shows a range of jobs across my lifetime career. It underlines the truth that for most of life, one way or another, I have made my living from my creativity.

A lot of my work has been in computer-based graphic design, working for magazine and book publishers. I got in on the ground floor of the desktop publishing revolution, and became proficient in all levels of DTP software, from page layout and and photo editing to text markup language software for publishing, including TeX and similar layout programming languages. I had a specialty in mathematical and technical typesetting for several years. More recently I have been doing programming-based music engraving using LilyPond, which is based on LATex.

I have a type design gallery on this portfolio showing some of the original typeface designs I've created over the years.
